Madeleine and I have just returned from England, where I spoke on
veganism and The World Peace Diet several times in London and in
Hastings. It was great to see the enthusiasm for vegan living at the
events we attended, which were mainly the Viva!-sponsored Incredible
Veggie Show (about 5,000 attendees) as well as the Jain Mahavir
Conference (about 2,000 attendees). I spoke to an enthusiastic
standing-room-only crowd at the Veggie Show, and several times at the
Jain Conference, as well as for a vegan gathering in Hastings.
It was heart-touching to see people go vegan as a result of the
lectures! Lots of discussions and networking with people in the British
vegan movement at some terrific veg restaurants in London, and a
highlight of the trip was hearing Heather Mills speak passionately on
the importance of veganism at the Veggie Show. Madeleine and I also met
with Brian Haw, who is in the 8th year of a peace encampment in front
of British Parliament protesting the Iraq war; and we gave him a copy
of Living In Harmony With All Life, promoting veganism as the root of
nonviolence, peace, and spiritual health.

We are delighted to be back in the States, and to be back in the saddle
of the World Peace Diet Tour, heading north to Jacksonville today for a
lecture on The World Peace Diet tonight. I will also formally receive
The Shining World Hero Award from representatives of the Supreme Master
Ching Hai International Association at tonight's event.

The Jain Temple north of London:
Jainism, of all the world's religions, is the most strongly aligned
with veganism as the essential component to authentic spirituality.
Compassion for all life is the core of Jain teachings and living.

VEG INSPIRATION FOR THE DAY:
This is the wonderful news! Each and every one of us can help transform
our culture in the most effective way possible: by switching to a
plant-based diet for ethical reasons and encouraging others to do the
same. This is veganism, which is a mentality and lifestyle of radical
inclusion and compassion, and it is the antidote to our culture’s
sickness, going to the hidden root of our dilemmas. It is the beckoning
revolution that will make peace, sustainability, and heaven actually
possible on this Earth. It’s wonderful, because it is not difficult!
Anyone can go vegan today and help transform our world with every meal.
We can each be the change we want to see in the world and bring forth
the benevolent transformation we all yearn for in our hearts.
