Jesus questioned the foundation of war and oppression, which was then, as it is now, the killing and eating of animals.

Back then it was animal sacrifice performed by priests at the temple, which was the main source of wealth and prestige for the Jewish religious power structure, as well as being the source of meat for the populace.

Jesus’ confrontation at the temple in which he drove out those selling animals for slaughter was a bold attack on the fundamental herding paradigm of viewing animals merely as property, sacrifice objects, and food.

Prayer Circle for Today
Today let us send our prayers and love to all aquatic animals.

May compassion and love reign over all the earth for all the water beings living in the seas, lakes, and rivers. Dear fish, whales, dolphins, crabs, lobsters, starfish, jellyfish, shrimp, coral, and all the other amazing beings who make the waters of earth their home.

Your homes and your very lives are being devastated by huge fishing fleets, by trash, oil, sewage, runoff, and other poisons dumped into your waters, by cutting off your fins, and by capturing you and your loved ones for aquariums and the pet trade.

Together, we bear witness to your suffering, take action to end it permanently, and send out an energy field of love and compassion to comfort you and to transform the hearts and souls of those who support this violent oppression.

Our love is all around you. Compassion encircles the earth for each of you and for all beings.

The Jewish religion includes kindness to animals in the Ten commandments.
Jesus encouraged the eating of animals…ex.: fish. Jesus threw the “money lenders” out the Temple because he was misinformed as to their intentions. They had to change the Coins with the Pagan god’s faces on them into coins that had no graven images on them to be presented to the priests as No graven images is a Commandment.

Most devout Jewish people today are vegans; as we realize that the One True G-d, Hashem instructed mankind to eat of fruit of the field, and the grains that He provided for us. It is what is ordered to Human beings to eat.

    Hi Alice,
I suggest you read some scholarly research into the veganism of Jesus. In my book The World Peace Diet I cite “The Lost Religion of Jesus” by Keith Akers. Another important work is “The Origin of Christianity: The Pacifisim, Communalism, and Vegetarianism of Primitive Christianity” by Charles Vaclavik. It is pretty undeniable that Jesus and the original Judaic Christians were trying to reform Judaism to stop the temple sacrifices, and to bring in vegan living. They even wore no wool, only linen. Please do some research and don’t believe the official stories!
Wonderful to hear you say that most devout Jewish people today are vegans! That’s quite a statement!
