The more we connect, the more we understand and the more we love, and
this love propels us not only to leave home, questioning our culture’s
attitude of domination and exclusion, but also to return home, speaking
on behalf of those who are vulnerable.

Being willing to look, see, respond, and reconnect with all our
neighbors and live this interconnectedness inspires us naturally to
choose food, entertainment, clothing, and products that cause a minimum
of unnecessary cruelty to vulnerable living beings. As we do this, we
become more mindful of the ripples our actions cause in the world. Our
spiritual transformation deepens, and as our sensitivity increases we
yearn to bless others more and to be a voice for the voiceless.

As we make connections and become open to feedback, it will be
increasingly obvious that one of the greatest gifts any of us can give
to the world, to the human family, to future generations, to animals,
to ourselves, and to our loved ones is to go vegan and dedicate our
lives to encouraging others to do the same.

The key to veganism is that it is lived. No one can be a vegetarian in
theory only! Unlike many religious teachings that are primarily
theoretical and internal, veganism is solidly practical. The motivation
of veganism is compassion. It is not at all about personal purity or
individual health or salvation, except as these bless others. It is a
concrete, visible way of living that flows from, and reinforces, a
sense of caring and connectedness.

There is no way to overstate the magnitude of the collective spiritual
transformation that will occur when we shift from food of violent
oppression to food of gentleness and compassion.

In honor of Dr Tuttle's visit to Houston these past few days, we are taking a closer look at his work by actually interviewing the author himself.  We will be joined live in the studio by Dr. Will Tuttle and
his wife, Madeleine, a visionary artist.

The World Peace Diet has been called one of the most
important books of the 21st century:  the foundation of a new society
based on the truth of the interconnectedness of all life.  It is the
first book to make explicit the invisible connections between our culture, our food, and the source of our broad range of problems—and the way to a positive transformation in our individual and lives. The World Peace Diet
is an award-winning book. If you want to understand the big picture of
our culture and why we have the unyielding dilemmas we face, and how we
can solve them, this book is for you.

The World Peace Diet,
is now available as an Audio Book on CD. It is unabridged and is about
13 1/2 hours long. It is read by Dr. Tuttle with short musical interludes of original piano, and is available now from our website, www.worldpeacediet.org. Available on MP3 & CD.

Dr. Tuttle recently created a new website at www.worldpeacediet.net, that is especially designed for discussion about vegetarianism, veganism, and the ideas in The World Peace Diet.  There are special groups for sharing recipes, for facilitators and others interested in facilitating courses on The World Peace Diet, and other discussion groups.  Anyone can start her/his own discussion forum, as well.  The time has come, as we know, to work together more
creatively for the awakening of our culture and the healing of our
Earth and our relationships with animals and one other.

Dr. Tuttle's presentation at the Green Technology Institute's
S.O.S. Climate Change International Conference held at the Silver
Screen Theater in Hollywood is now available online.  The event featured environmentalists and scientists, as well as vegan activists and spiritual teachers, to help raise consciousness about the connections between sustainability, compassion, and spiritual health.

There are more events and further details on Dr. Tuttle's Tour Schedule, at: willtuttle.com/schedule.htm.

Dr Tuttle has posted a 6-minute musical slideshow called "Our Fellow Mortals" on YouTube — please sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Finally, Dr. Tuttle has been sending out free daily "Veg
Inspiration For The Day" quotes since May 1st, and has gotten a
tremendous amount of positive feedback about it.  So if you'd like to
begin receiving that every morning, you're welcome to sign up on The World Peace Diet website: www.worldpeacediet.org

Enslaving and eating animals is relentlessly polluting our mental and
bodily environments, hardening our hearts and blocking feelings and
awareness, instigating fear, violence, and repression in our relationships, laying waste our precious planet, gruesomely torturing and killing billions of terrorized beings, deadening us spiritually, and profoundly disempowering us by impeding our innate intelligence and our ability to make essential connections.

Thanksgiving

Will Tuttle : November 26, 2008

Dear Friend

Thanksgiving greetings! Madeleine and I are heading into Texas as we continue our "Planting Peace" tour – now drawing to the end of our 13th year full-time on the road in our solar-powered RV.

I'd to share just a few thoughts and resources. One is that now that the election is over, I think it's important to remember that every day is an election; every day we vote with our dollars and dictate to
the vast economic complex what we want to be produced, and what activities we want to support. Each and every one of us is making an impact with our lives, and as we become more sensitive to the
repercussions of our actions and votes, we can transform our lives and contribute to the transformation and healing of our world. We also elect what to speak, think about, and focus our attention on. There is nothing more empowering than bringing our daily lives into congruence with our deeply-held values, and I am grateful for the powerful positive steps being taken in our country and in our world to live with greater awareness of the interconnectedness of all life, and with greater compassion for all living beings and for future generations. It is difficult to overstate the immensity of the challenges we face; as Obama recently said, "Our planet is in peril." We are each called to question the underlying assumptions of our reductionistic and obsolete cultural mentality and, as Gandhi said so well, be the change we'd like to see in the world.

Along these lines, I'd like to share a video that we made recently in Cincinnati called "A Case For The World Peace Diet." It has been airing on Supreme Master TV, an international TV channel that broadcasts 24/7 and presents only constructive and positive news and programs. Here's the link: http://www.worldpeacediet.org/videos.htm

Increasingly, people are making the connections between veganism and environmental sustainability, and I recently published an article in the British journal Resurgence Magazine entitled "What Then Should We Eat?." Please click here to access the article:http://www.worldpeacediet.org/articles.htm

Also, there has been an unprecedented amount of discussion about the plight of animals, especially turkeys, over the last few weeks, from the infamous Sarah Palin turkey-pardoning debacle in Alaska to Time and Newsweek articles on veganism, vegetarianism, and the tensions that often erupt or simmer between families that are divided on the subject of eating animals. It's so healthy to see our culture begin to have this long-overdue public discussion! A recent undercover investigation shows what turkeys endure in our factory farm system:http://www.circleofcompassion.org/video.html

And if you know people eating "organic" or "free-range" turkeys, this shows the turkey hatcheries where they come from:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGJryC4XIdo
Finally, here are some fun, cruelty-free turkey dishes:http://tinyurl.com/6dvtft

We have also found out recently that agave nectar may have a dark side – that it may not be much different than high-fructose corn syrup. Click here to find out more:
http://www.naturalnews.com/024892.html

For a smile, here's an article on "Giant Rats as Mankind's New Best Friend:"
http://tinyurl.com/68p7a3

We have many events in Texas coming up over the next two weeks, primarily in the areas of Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Please see our tour schedule, www.willtuttle.com/schedule.htm for details,
particularly if you know folks (or live) near those areas. We'll be in Florida for the winter, presenting in many areas; the schedule is still evolving there. Please think ahead to early March for the Holistic Holiday At Sea, our first-ever Caribbean cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale for 8 days featuring, besides Madeleine and me, T. Colin Campbell, Neal Barnard, Christina Pirello, Amrit Desai, Isa
Chandra Moskowitz, Christine Horner, Dirk Benedict, Sherry Rogers, and many more.

Please join us at www.worldpeacediet.net, and feel free to sign up for our free daily "Veg Inspiration For The Day" at www.worldpeacediet.org.

A big thank-you to all of you who are working diligently to raise consciousness on this Earth, and spreading the light of peace and love through the interconnected webs of relations here. Bless you
all!

That's it for now.
Love and peace,

Will & Madeleine

Autumn News

Will Tuttle : October 19, 2008

http://www.sfvs.org/wvd/images/9th_header.jpg
Dear Friends,

Madeleine and I are in San Francisco where I’m speaking for the Ninth Annual San Francisco VegFest, a terrific gathering of about 5,000 people exploring and celebrating the benefits of a plant-based diet. We have two pieces of exciting news that we’d like to share with you.

One is that my book, The World Peace Diet, is now available asan Audio Book on CD. It is unabridged and is about 13 1/2 hours long. It is read by me with short musical interludes of original piano, and is available now from our website, www.worldpeacediet.org. If you know anyone who could benefit from the message of The World Peace Diet and who might not have the time or inclination to read a 300-page book, and would rather just listen as they drive, jog, walk, or relax, we now have the book available on an MP3 CD, perfect for iPods and MP3 CD players.

And secondly, we have just created a new web site, World Peace Diet.net , that is especially designed for discussion about vegetarianism, veganism, and the ideas in The World Peace Diet. There are special groups for sharing recipes, for facilitators and others interested in facilitating courses on The World Peace Diet, and other discussion groups. Anyone can start your own discussion forum as well. The time has come, as we know, to work together more creatively for the awakening of our culture and the healing of our Earth and our relationships with animals and each other. Thanks for checking it out and signing on! Together, we can teach and learn from each other and spread the word to others. There are some amazing resources on the site already, such as the new information about the pioneering vegetarianism (and veganism) of Unity’s founders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore.

My lecture at the Green Technology Institute’s S.O.S. Climate Change International Conference held at the Silver Screen Theater in Hollywood is now available online. The event featured environmentalists and scientists as well as vegan activists and spiritual teachers to help raise consciousness about the connections between sustainability, compassion, and spiritual health.

After speaking here in San Francisco, we will be diving into our intensive "Ioway Territory 2008" tour through Iowa, traveling the length and breadth of Iowa for the rest of October, spreading the message of The World Peace Diet. After that, we’ll be heading to Topeka and Kansas City,  and from there to Wichita, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Arlington/Dallas, Tyler, Austin, and Houston through November and December, and then to Florida for the winter. If you would like to have me present a week-end World Peace Diet retreat in your area, or come and present a lecture or workshop in your community, please let me know. Madeleine and I are here to serve, and, after 13 years full-time on the road, we’re still enjoying life in our rolling home. There are more events and further details on our Tour Schedule.

I’d like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to help make the events successful over the last two months — in Michigan, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Ohio.

I have posted a 6-minute musical slideshow I made called "Our Fellow Mortals" on YouTube — please sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Finally, we have been sending out our free daily "Veg Inspiration For The Day" since May 1st, and getting a lot of positive feedback from people about it. So if you’d like to
begin receiving that every morning, you can sign up on The World Peace Diet website:
http://worldpeacediet.org

That’s it for now. Thanks for all your efforts!
Big changes are in the wind,
Peace and love for all,

Will & Madeleine

McCain and Palin Must be stopped!

Despite intense scientific, ethical and public opposition to aerial hunting, Governor Sarah Palin continues to champion this awful practice. It’s time to end this most despicable, barbaric act against the wolf. Learn more and Take action.
